I was inspired to paint this simple gouache painting  a celebration of the Visit from the Magi. We call it Three Kings Day or Los Reyes Magos here in Puerto Rico. Also called the Epiphany - when the wisemen followed a star in the east to bring gifts to baby Jesus. In Puerto Rico the children put grass clippings in a shoebox under their beds or under the Christmas tree, before going to bed, to feed the camels when the wise men bring gifts in remembrance of that sacred Epiphany so long ago.
