This reproduction print of an original oil painting is titled “ESSENTIAL FARM WORKERS DESERVE RESPECT”. The original is 11 x 14. I am honored that it was accepted into “The 13th Annual Art About Agriculture Exhibition” November 13, 2021 to March 6, 2022 at the Santa Paula Art Museum.

Civil Rights and Environmental Justice are two reoccurring themes running through my art. During the pandemic frontline essential workers from nurses to farm workers have had my utmost respect. True heroes with steadfast devotion providing the world what we need. I can’t sing their praises loud enough. During the pandemic we began to realize how important front line farm workers are to our nation. I pray that we continue to appreciate, protect, honor and thank our essential agricultural heroes.

Provenance:  This painting is currently held in a private collection. Painted in September 2021 it hung in The Art About Agriculture Exhibition through March 6, 2022 at the Santa Paula Art Museum. The Exhibition is a juried, group art exhibition presented annually by the Ag Art Alliance. The Ag Art Alliance was formed in 2007 by Santa Paula artists Gail Pidduck and John Nichols. The purpose of the exhibit is to promote awareness of agriculture by using art to explore its many facets—from workers to water, from machinery to fields, to the food that goes on our plates. Since 2010, the annual Exhibition is at the Santa Paula Art Museum.

PIGMENT: We use Epson DURABrite Ultra pigment ink which has a permanence resistance rating up to 105 years as rated by Wilhelm Imagine Research a leading authority of print permanence. For make print life display prints under glass or UV filter. Pigment inks such as DURABrite Ultra consist of pigment particles suspended in the ink. Once applied to the paper, they will not dissolve and will not stain if they become wet.

Epson’s DURABrite Ultra pigment ink uses an exclusive Microencapsulation technology where each pigment particle is encased in a resin. A unique polymer pulls the particles apart, so they are suspended in the solution and never coagulate. The ink base then helps the DURABrite Ultra pigment particles penetrate the paper. DURABrite Ultra ink uses a specific technology to control the penetration level of the ink and keep the colorant near the surface and a special formula that creates more Vibrant & bright colored prints.  Conventional dye-based ink particles are absorbed into the fibers of plain paper and are soluble in water. Pigment inks come at a higher cost than dye inks but you can feel confident in your investment that will last for generations.
