SOUTH MOUNTAIN WEST - Giclee Reproduction Print of Original Oil Painting

THIS PAINTING IS AN ODE TO ARTIST CLARA WHITE
I continued to be HEAD OVER HEELS HAPPY and honored to have the original painting SOUTH MOUNTAIN WEST - Valley of Splendor” a 20” x 30" Landscape Oil Painting accepted into the the 14th Annual Art About Agriculture Exhibition at the Santa Paula Art Museum (November 2022 - March 6, 2023) As reference I used photos I took at my friend Julie White’s gorgeous floral, peach and rose colored garden looking out over the Santa Clara Valley inspired me to paint South Mountain West. I was also inspired by Julie’s mother, Clara White’s painting of a similar section of the South Mountain range from the same view point of their Santa Paula home. Clara was an acclaimed artist and teacher, actor, writer and photographer who “loved and was fascinated by nature and people and painted what she loved,” said Julie White in an article about her mother in 2002 when her work was featured in a retrospective exhibition with included her famous South Mountain painting. This painting is an ode to her (Clara White) and all the local artists that blazed the path ahead for us.

Materials: 

PAPER: Printed and hand cut in-house on archival quality, fade resistant smooth Epson paper with a 51lb. / 192 gsm basis weight and 10.3 mil thickness.

PIGMENT: We use Epson DURABrite Ultra pigment ink which has a permanence resistance rating up to 105 years as rated by Wilhelm Imagine Research a leading authority of print permanence. For make print life display prints under glass or UV filter. Pigment inks such as DURABrite Ultra consist of pigment particles suspended in the ink. Once applied to the paper, they will not dissolve and will not stain if they become wet. 

Epson’s DURABrite Ultra pigment ink uses an exclusive Microencapsulation technology where each pigment particle is encased in a resin. A unique polymer pulls the particles apart, so they are suspended in the solution and never coagulate. The ink base then helps the DURABrite Ultra pigment particles penetrate the paper. DURABrite Ultra ink uses a specific technology to control the penetration level of the ink and keep the colorant near the surface and a special formula that creates more Vibrant & bright colored prints.  Conventional dye-based ink particles are absorbed into the fibers of plain paper and are soluble in water. Pigment inks come at a higher cost than dye inks but you can feel confident in your investment that will last for generations. 

Shipping: Prints size 8 x 10 & 11 x14 and below will be packaged in a clear cello sleeve, backed by a 22 pt chipboard sheet, inside a flat biodegradable extra-rigid fiberboard photo/document mailer and shipped via USPS. Prints size 12 x16 or larger will be packaged in a sturdy Kraft Mailing Tube. Please feel free to contact for alternative shipping options.
